TYLER GAULDEN

In 1985, Tyler Curtis Gaulden was born into the home of Curtis and Debbie Gaulden. Growing up in a Christian home, afforded Tyler to be spared from a lot of the pain and hardships that come from being raised in the world. Yet, a Christian home was not sufficient to save Tyler from his sin. It was not until he was sixteen years old he was saved at a revival service being held at the Vandalia Christian School where he was a student. There in the sanctuary of the church, he finally realized that he would go to hell if he were to die. There in the church pew, he asked Jesus Christ to be his personal Lord and Savior.

The summer immediately following his high school graduation, Tyler, like most young people, was struggling with what he wanted to do with his life. The longing for money and success were calling his name, yet there was no satisfaction or excitement when he would “settle” on something. Finally, one night in his bedroom, he opened a gift that his one his teachers, Mrs. Evers had given him for graduation. It was a little book entitled, Bible Promises for the Teenager to Treasure. The first verse in that book was Psalm 119:125, I am thy servant, give me understanding that I may know thy testimonies. As he went to bed that night, Tyler began to pray that verse over and over again. Over the next few weeks, the Holy Ghost began to slowly reveal what Tyler should do with his life.

In the weeks to follow, Tyler sat in his church wondering what was going on in his soul. One Sunday morning, his pastor, Jack Lemons made a statement from the pulpit; he said, “I won’t always be here… who will stand in my place?” Something began to stir in Tyler’s spirit that said, “That someone is you!” In August 2004 in his bedroom while reading the Parable of the Talents from Matthew 25:14-30, Tyler surrendered his life to preach the Word of God right there beside his bed. He realized, that though he may not have much to give, not to use the gift God had given to him would be a waste of his life.

Upon announcing the call to his church, he immediately enrolled in Bible College at Piedmont Baptist College in Winston-Salem, North Carolina where he began equipping himself for the call that had been placed upon his life.

During his Junior year in Bible college, Bro. Tyler was asked by his pastor, Jack Lemons, to become the part-time youth director at his church. After graduation, he began working full-time as youth director and then, became the full-time Assistant Pastor for over a year and a half.
In September 2011, the Holy Spirit began working in Bro. Tyler’s heart about stepping out in faith and going into full-time evangelism. After praying long and hard about the matter, Bro. Tyler talked with his pastor and after receiving his pastor’s blessing, he announced to the church in January 2012, his call to go into full-time evangelism. Bro. Tyler is holding to the promise of Psalm 5:12, For thou, LORD, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield.
